Hello all,
I recently subscribed to iTunes Match and I came across the plethora of common problems that many people have been having (random songs from albums being uploaded while the rest is matched, etc.), but aside from taking over 72 hours to upload the 3500 songs it didn't match, it's been decent.
I really don't care if over one third of my library had to be uploaded, I didn't subscribe to "redeem" higher quality versions but rather to have my whole library available on iOS.
I do however have 66 songs that have been stuck on "waiting", and I'm finding it quite annoying. I tried two different procedures I found online, but neither seems to work reliably. They are:

Procedure A:
1. Convert to AAC (a pretty hideous thing
2. Delete original
3. "Add to iCloud" on the new AAC copy

Procedure B:
1. Delete the song from iCloud but keep the local file
2. Add the "iTunes Music" folder to the library (cmd-O) so that it readds the files
3. Update iTunes Match when it's done rescanning artwork and stuff

Well, procedure B never worked and procedure A worked on a few files... but now doesn't seem to work anymore, and I'm still stuck with 44 files hanging. More often than not, I now get error -50 when attempting to convert to AAC, and I have to quit and reopen iTunes to make the conversion happen again. After that, however, there's no way to force it to upload the AAC version anyway.

I have turned iTunes Match off and on, updated it, updated genius just in case, but it doesn't seem to care. At most, it will show all of them as "error", which does make the "Add to iCloud" entry in the right-click menu show up, but using that brings it back to waiting.

Does anyone have any hints about how to force the upload of these? It's getting quite frustrating, especially because "update iTunes Match" takes a long time to complete each time.

Thanks!

I'm there too

Just ran into this thread. Did you ever figure anything out? I've got 3 songs stuck in this state. And then found that if I click the 'downsample when you sync to the phone' option, to save space on my iPhone ... that it complains that it can't.

Hello there,
I ended up converting the songs to AAC using Music Converter (free on App Store). It uses a different encoder that makes iTunes attempt to match again, I think that something gets stuck if you just reconvert it with iTunes itself.
In some cases it ended up uploading the songs converted by Music Converter, though, but at least now everything is synchronized for me.
Give it a try with a few songs and see if it works for you!

Hi

I had this problem, and when I tried to play the tracks it asked for me to authorise my mac to play the tracks, when I signed in, it just reverted back keeping me in a loop.

After a couple of hours i found out that for some reason iTunes Match had put some sort of protection on the music file that didnt match my account, and so I had to re-imort those songs from a cd and re-upload to match.

So try playing them and if it dont play, you need to either convert the track using an audio converter to remove the protection from the track and re-import or just re-import the track using the CD or original music file.

Hope this helps.

James
