I finally decided to give iTunes Match a try and signed up for the service on Sunday last week. My iTunes library is pretty big, 13,300+ songs. It took almost the entire day just to analyze and match the songs but I figured since this was the first time it might be slow. The real problem arose when it finished matching my songs and moved on to Step 3: Uploading Artwork and Remaining songs. I have about 3,000 songs that didn't get matched, and it's taking an unreasonably long time to upload them. I let it run all night Sunday and all day Monday, and by the time I got home from work on Monday it had gotten to around 2,000 songs uploaded but seemed to have frozen. I stopped and started it again and to my horror the entire process started over from Step 1.

In a nutshell: I use my laptop for work and need to take it with my daily. It doesn't seem to be able to upload my remaining 3,000 songs in a given day and there doesn't seem to be any option to pause it, and stopping and then starting again restarts the whole process.

I'm about to just give up and ask for a refund. Why is this service so unreasonably slow? There's no reason it should be taking over 24 hours to upload 3,000 songs. My internet connection isn't blazing fast, but it's decent so I don't believe that is the issue.

Mesure your upload speed. Just saying you have "blazing fast" internet means little and is subjective without hard numbers. Almost all internet services are asymmetrical, having fast download but relatively slow upload speeds. Here is a test.

I actually stated that I didn't have a "blazing fast" internet connection.

Upload speed is 1.49 Mbps, which seems below average. I'm guessing it's registering slower than it actually is due to the fact that I'm currently uploading music w/ iTunes Match.

Even at 1.49 Mbps, should it be taking days on end to upload? That doesn't seem right.

Help - the same problem

Hi A,

A year on and I have just loaded iTunes match and I have exactly the same problems as you had in early 2012. Did you manage to solve the problem? I am stuck with 2,500 songs unable to load at Step 3 of the iTunes Match program!

Cheers
