I look on the iTunes match page and cannot see anything about a 25,000 song limit any more so im looking for a confirmation its been removed, if it has, im straight onto itunes match again.
It seems they removed the paragraph mentioning the 25k limit around the end of June, so I don't think anything has changed (yet). Have they said for sure that they're upping the limit?
Probably changes the 16th along with iOS 9 or it could be the 30th with 10.11.According to my iTunes placeholder page, Match limit is still 25k songs.
I have a vacation which I was looking forward to taking my 400gb music collection with. Then again do I really want to open such a large collection on a IOS device? It always use to lag so much with just 200gb. plus the nightmare of itunes libraries losing their marbles with recent updates lately and connections with apple music / icloud.
My iTunes collection of many years in order is precious to me and I am tied to it in a way, I back up before updates as with apples track record with itunes is not good. I cringe after every redesign and update hoping it doesn't fall apart! being patient is key I guess.
I too am waiting for the 25k limit to be lifted. And I also have a carefully curated library.
I highly doubt -- even when the limit is lifted -- that the service will function as expected.
Take, for example, a matched song. Does it also store your metadata or does it discard and replace with that from the service? If so, total nonstarter for me as most basically, the existing genres are so uninformative. Sorry, that's a bit of a thread hijack.
Now back to waiting.
Is this for real now? Apple page still says 25k
