I download music off iTunes b/c I scan get DRM off of the files easily...however I have not been able to find how to do this with movies. I have been going back and forth with buying movies off iTunes. I do know that when I moved to my new house, it took me 2 weeks to get internet. During that whole time, my appleTV could not authorize itself. Therefore, anything that was downloaded off iTunes that had drm licencing would not even show up on appleTV. This frustrated me. Is it dumb to download movies off iTunes b/c of these restrictions? Opinions?

What do you do? Rip off DVD/BluRay or buy off iTunes?

Buy the movie and rip it. If I own the darn movie, there's no good reason for me not to be able to use it on an iPod. Stupid DMCA was written before iPods even existed.

I also don't like how the iTunes Store videos have zero features (not even alternate languages or subtitles) and aren't priced competitively. You can find different $4 DVDs weekly at stores like Best Buy and Fry's. You may get lucky and find 1 or 2 $7.99 movies at the iTunes Store. This is most likely the studios' fault, but that doesn't change anything.
