My itunes movie freezes everytime I play, even I have an imac with Intel core i7. Do you guys have same problem regarding itunes movie?:(

try playing it in VLC

The video is most likely DRMed, so no VLC. Instead, try opening the video in Quicktime Player. Right click the movie in iTunes and click Show in Finder. Then you can open the video from the finder in Quicktime.

itunes hangs imac i7 27 inch

I am on phone as I type... after working through the very funny responses, like, "your mouse's battery is dying, you need to change it, that is causing your imac i7 with 16GB of ram, 512 MB vid card to hang or freeze... " I had a good laugh with the poor innocent "apple expert" and had him transfer me to his "superiors" to put it in his own words...

Seems like the hanging, or freezing issues happens only when I have itunes open with any other application. I sure hope it is itunes... and not the video card or the like, but so far, my system, having it now for only 2 days, has frozen 5 times, mouse moves fine, but nothing is clickable, can;t use the keyboard, but itunes is still playing the movie, and my ichat users are moving around as they login and out, but you can't don anything, not even waiting helps, you have to reset the machine.... grrrrr! how frustrating. But so far, keeping itunes closed, nothing freezes as of yet... I did a test, after 6 or so hours no freeze, but as soon as I played a few songs or a movie on itunes 9+ the machine hangs, freezes, and again, reboot time...

still on the phone... awaiting a real mac genious?

hmm maybe a bug ,or the imac i7 just cant handle itunes or you need more ram
sorry could you be a bit more precise ?
i mean some stats would be helpful (activity monitor)

just looked up goolge , and unless you post in various forums in uk ,usa, germany,... since the release of the i7 imac its very common to freeze
looks like a feature as windows people call it
so bring it back to the shop , might be hardware related

he has 16gb lol

so can you play itunes videos then ?with your 8gb ?
just a thought ....if it works in yours we can rule out the i7 and itunes as the source of problem , that would be a start

when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth ,in that case the source of the problem

i know that ,but mayby the ram is not efficiently working , maybe some cheap chinese value ram who knows ?? i still guess its hardware related , as we don't have sufficient info to relate it to software, as itunes is not a very rare software , and if others use same snow leo, same itunes and it works perfectly well there , then we can rule it out, so i ask again does your i7 imac play itunes videos without freezing
