So silly question... But I just pre-ordered Batman v Superman on iTunes, and it had me enter my password and junk, but the link didn't change from "pre-order"... Is that normal?
I know I won't be charged until it comes out, but shouldn't the link say that I "pre-ordered" the item, or just somehow let me know it went through?
Thanks for any help. :)

Yes that's normal, you can go into your account in iTunes and view your pre-orders from there, if you try to pre-order it again, iTunes will tell you that you've already pre-ordered it and you will not be charged for it.

I don't like pre-orders and refuse to do this, because Apple has the right to defer date, even though the original ETA date in iTunes may see "it will be available July 2nd" for example...

I used to pre-order movies, but now its acceptable to just wait and see. because u will be disappointed it u wanna see something, log in, and find the date has been moved.

You aren't billed until the item is available though.
