Hey,

Tried to do this last night, but it doesn't work apparently. Never noticed a thread on this...

Rented a movie (download) on office machine, then tried to transfer it to the theatre machine - but said it wasn't allowed (authorized).

Both machines are auth'd on iTunes - just won't let you move a rental - you have to watch it on the 'puter you rented it on.

Interesting little bit of data. Also, as noted in other posts, FrontRow doesn't show rentals either... have to get at it through iTunes.

yep I learnt that the hard way to. D'ld on my imac and tried to xfer to the wifes macbook to watch on the TV.

I contacted itunes support and they gladly let me download it again on my wifes macbook.

Its also a bummer not being able to really browse itunes store through frontrow.

Someone told me it was possible to run the ATVs version of front row on a mac mini. Is that true?

you can only do it on Tiger, as the ATV software is a modified version of Tiger and requires frameworks that aren't available in Leopard or Snow Leopard.
