so I just bought a movie off of iTunes with the thought that it'll be in the cloud so I can watch it on my AppleTV but in the movies section it doesn't show a purchase menu... what's going on here?

Hi,
iCloud does not sync Movies. You can simply enable home sharing to watch it on your Apple TV however.

I thought if you buy a movie off of iTunes that it'll play on the AppleTV in the cloud?... it does it for TV shows I've boughten and music but not for movies?

Are you in the UK? For some annoying reason it's not currently possible to stream your purchased movies in the cloud you can in the US though...
in Canada, err this sucks! I want this feature, hopefully we all get it soon. Thanks.
I'm not blaming Apple, I'm sure they want to offer all of us this feature. I'm sure it'll be available before the year is over.
But wish they would make it clearer that it's a USA feature only, with Canada pretty much being USA with our TV/ads/everything it comes across as it being available.
This is why people torrent stuff, who wants to be told what they can watch and when and where. You get a movie, I want to watch it on my iPad, ok, I want to watch it on my tv, ok, I want to watch it on my laptop, ok. Just silly really.
BC the movie studios have to protect their regional distributors, which is an antiquated business model.
I understand it in an old DVD way bc the region distributors did all of the overdub and subtitle work. I have some DVDs from Eastern Europe with 5 language tracks and 19 subtitle tracks, but we now live in a globalized world, so we are told.
Hollywood just doesn't get it yet, that's why there is an average of 4 million pirated copies of Game of Thrones season 2 downloaded. Fck Hollywood even thought I have many friends working there.
