Itunes Not recognizing my external drive songs?

I imported them all into my library, and now all I get is exclimation points next to them. When I try to put them in a playlist, it wont work, but if I try to play them, they are fine.

any suggestions?
 
Well, I restarted iTunes, and now everything plays, but there are a whole bunch of duplicates. How do I get rid of those?
