iTunes on iPad play through speakers via Airport Express?

Hello all, I'm a long time Macrumors forum reader, first time poster.

I've recently purchased my iPad, love it. It has become my primary internet surfing device over my MacBook. However there are some things I'm hoping Apple will include in the next OS update expected to be released monday that aren't included on the iPad now.

Anyway, I'm curious if there is a way to stream my music to my home theater speakers through the iPads iTunes program like on my MacBook via Apples Airport Express? Is there an app I'm overlooking or a setting on the iPad I'm unaware of? And how many of you wish it had this feature if it is in fact unavailable?

I appreciate your help.

Short answer: no

I also wish Apple would have allowed for streaming mobile iTunes over the express. Best alternative is to install Remote.app and then run your music off your computer via your iPad.

The 4.0 iPad OS update is not scheduled to be released until sometime in the fall. Just an FYI so you aren't expecting something that isn't coming....yet!

The closest I've managed to this was to install the Apple Remote app on the iPad and remote control an Apple TV, for me it works great. I've also got an Airport Express which can also connect to the Apple TV and thus be controlled via the Remote app on my iPad. It works great, the only down side is the App isn't Ipad friendly so doesn't look that great.
