Has anyone else had trouble with iTunes on their iPad? When I try, it brings it up for a few seconds and then shuts and opens the App Store. Why on earth would it crash and bring up a completely different app?

I tried rebooting, but it didn't help. Guess my next step is restoring, but I'd really rather not!

Having the exact same problem. Just got back from the apple store where they did a restore and it was fine until I synched it with my computer at home. I suspect an app conflict. I'm in the process of removing apps to see if I can find the one.

Thanks for posting this...saved me from restoring. Let me know if you figure out the app and I will do the same for you! I'd just post a list of all of the apps that I have installed so we could cross-check, but I have way too many! LOL

It must be one of the less common apps or I'd think everyone would be having the same problem.

This happened to me after installing Soundhound and the marvel comic app. Not sure if either are involved, just happened after I installed both. iTunes wouldn't launch, but then I launched the apple video app, exited, then iTunes launched fine.

Restore the iPad

After restore process do not restore from backup, but setup as new!

If you restore from backup the issue will come back like Gzo, there's no need to remove apps to see what it is, simply restore again but setup as new

Same thing happened to me had to do a restore and set up as new and not restore from backup which means all kinds of lost game saves etc. I thought it might be atomic web browser do you guys have bit installed?

mine locked up and couldn't change volume, turn it off, or anything. the screen became unresponsive.

I waited for the song to end... it was still playing, and eventually, everything released.

I went back and unchecked the "down sample" option and re-loaded my music, and I have not had any issue since (other than almost no free space... the Beatles albums I have were converted using a very high bit rate, so they took up about 4x more memory than when down sample'd)

I finally had to restore my iPad. I deleted apps one page at a time until they were all off, the removed everything else. Got it down to bare bones and iTunes was still crashing, so I restored which fixed it. So, no idea what caused it. Weird!

itunes was fine - ipod app crashing

My itunes was loading fine! I came on here today hoping to find the answer as to why my ipod app was crashing!! I was about to restore it when i read on here that deleting apps might help...

Found the culprit on the first try!! Soundhound was not allowing me to open the ipod app!!!!!!!

Please be careful with it.. I am about to start a thread all about it!! Thanks for the help!! you saved me from doing a full restore!!!

iTunes crash on iPad fix

Hi I did some looking around the net because my iTunes was opening for 2 seconds then crashing. This happens when there is a problem with your last sync. To reset iTunes back to normal I simply opened the video app that you all have on your iPad then exit out of it, open iTunes and it should be fixed, it worked on mine. If that doesn't work hook it up to your computer and remove a song, this should fix it.

I had this problem too, then I clicked on a link for a song on apple's website and it redirected me to iTunes. Works fine now

Semi Resolved

Thanks, this has resolved iTunes, but iPod still crashes. I did restore, but this has not helped.
