iTunes opens by itself??

I have just recently added a few movies, tv shows, and home clips to iTunes. Now, just now, iTunes opens all by itself. I close it and walk away, next thing I know it is open and the video pane is open.

Anyone got some big idears??

ok; i use the itunes widget sometimes (it is active when i pull them up, but i have not actually used it lately). I might have had mail &/or safari open; but i closed them and it still happened.

Regarding the iPod; none connected during this behavior-I don't even have a 5G yet.
I shut my pbook down before coming to work tonight, and will repair permissions in the morn. when i get home and see if that helps.

There's a pretty well documented problem with the iTunes widget opening iTunes of its own accord, irrespective of whether you're using it or Dashboard is open. It doesn't occur if you close the widget though.

I didn't know that, first time occurance for me.

Well, close the widget (hold OPTION as your curser is over it and click the black circle with an X in it that'll appear) and see if it still happens.

This started happening to me recently too, and I did isolate the problem to that pesky iTunes widget. I've now banished that thing, which was slow and unresponsive anyway, and now I don't have any problems.

I started my PB up this morning when I came home and didn't notice it happening, ran disk perm. anyway. I have not seen it open again yet, if so I will disable that widget. I am glad to hear that is probably the issue rather than some sort of video overload problem or something weird....it took me 4 days to get those movies and tv episodes on there....Imagine running Handbrake on a 667 PB!!
