I'm running latest version of software on iphone6. For about the past 2 years, basically since like iOS7 of 8 came out, I cannot for the life of me figure out how to sort my iTunes playlists on the phone to have the most recently downloaded at top, and the oldest at the bottom. Instead, iTunes puts them in order of newest on bottom, which is stupid because then you always have to scroll down to your newest songs AND you see the same songs up top forever! Is there a way to fix this? I've Googled it many times but can't find a solution. Thanks.

This seems like a simple question. No answer? How do you re-order iPhone playlists to have the newest downloaded songs at the top of the list? My iPhone 4/5 was set up this way and I would like the functionality back.

If it's a playlist you created (not an automatically generated one), you open the playlist, and click Edit. Then you use the gray bars on the right to reorder the songs:

There isn't a way to reverse the order of playlists in the Music app on iOS I'm afraid.

It may come: the option does exist in Mail in iOS 10.

The trend is that most recent is at the bottom. This has always happened in messaging apps, and now in threaded mail in the Mail app. I think Apple wants unify it all.
