iTunes problem

I keep getting these alerts that iTunes wants to make updates. I don't want updates, so I hit cancel, but it then shows up 3 more times and every time I open my mac. I finally decided to log in, but I just get the spinning wheel of death. What can I do to either stop the pop ups or get logged in?

Try going to System Prefs>Software Update>Advanced and untick "Check For Updates" if it's ticked.

I did not find any reference to Software Update in System Prefs.

@I-wa I'm not sure what updates are you talking about. If you could post a screenshot it will be clearer.
iTunes updates can be disabled from iTunes preferences

Only came with Mojave, I think.
