I seem to have come across an annoying problem with iTunes and my 2 iPads.

I'll try to keep this short, but here goes.

I bought an iPad, set up a new iTunes account on my PC, and downloaded a bunch of apps/ibooks for it, and synced it to that PC/iTunes account. No problem there.

My wife liked it so much, I bought her an iPad, and what I want to do is transfer most of the apps I have bought already for mine, onto her iPad, and then she wants to sync her iPad to her PC/iTunes account (transferring her music/videos etc onto hers), but keeping the apps on it that I have already bought.

Can this be done?

If I sync her iPad to my PC, thus transferring the apps over, then connect it to her PC, it just tells me that the ipad is already synced to another device, and if I sync it, it will erase the contents of the iPad.

Any thoughts?

Thanks.

best thing that I do is have my wife and I using the same itunes account on our mobiles, laptops, imac, ipad etc..

But we also have 2 itunes accounts. (99% purchased through the 1 account though)

Just make sure both machines are authorized for the itunes accounts and you should be fine.

I think if the secondary machine is authorized, when you plug in your iPad it should ask if you want to transfer purchases over?

and you can probably transfer the 'purchased' items across your network using itunes 'home sharing' feature which will let you transfer movies, songs, apps across your two machines..

hope that helps

Thanks for those solutions. I shall have a think about which will work out better for me.

Cheers,
Kevin.
