I down loaded some iPad software from iTunes on my desktop on the office. My iPad will be arriving there on Monday. What if I wanted to set up my iPad at home on my authorized iTunes desktop. I do not see the software that I downloaded. Can I only transfer this software to my iPad with my office desktop where it was downloaded or is there a way I could do it at home without buying the software again.

Yes, you can use your home PC to sync your iPad apps, even though you bought them on your work PC. Unfortunately, iTunes does not recognize that your library is missing those purchased apps. So, you must go into iTunes on your home PC and re-download the apps. iTunes DOES recognize that you've already purchased that app and it will not charge you again. It will download it to your home (authorized) PC for free.

Personally, I would suggest authorizing your work PC as well. Apple lets you authorize up to 5 computers at once. Once you've got your work PC authorized, sync your iPad the day it shows up at your office. It will then load all of your iPad apps. Take it home and plug it into your home PC. Right-click on the iPad icon when it shows up in the left column and select "transfer purchases". Your iPad will automatically transfer all of those apps you've synced through your work PC onto your home PC. It will save you considerable time from having to re-download them again on your home PC.

I thank both of you for helping this Apple Newbie out! I understand now.

I will not be getting my iPad till Monday as my office is closed on Saturday and I am not giving up my whole Saturday at work, waiting for it! I will sync the Apps at work. Both Office and work computers are authorized.

Looking forward to Monday!:apple:
