iTunes randomly opening - close it - opens again?

Do you have your phone set to sync over wifi, and 'open itunes when this phone is connected'? I found that I had the same issue yesterday, turned off wifi syncing in the end as it was still connecting (but not syncing) even when the phone wasn't charging.

Hope there's a way around this as I don't particularly want itunes running all the time.

yes I had, just disabled that - a bit of a pain.
