Okay, so I'm trying to jailbreak my iPhone 3g. I'm using pwnagetool 3.1 with my Mac. I go through, create the custom .ipsw, go into DFU mode. When I get to iTunes, it says "you have to restore it first...blah blah blah". But it recognizes it as an iPod and nothing as far as restoring it pops up.

Any answers?:confused::D

Is this BEFORE or AFTER you restore? If before, i dunno. If after, you used the wrong IPSW.

It's before. I get the conformation screen from Pwnagetool saying I'm in DFU mode, then iTunes pops up and goes, "You need to restore this before we can use it." Then in my devices list in iTunes, it says "iPod", not "iPhone", and nothing pops up. It's weird.
