Last night my friend and I rented a movie via iTunes and streamed it to my Apple TV because it was cheaper from the iTunes store than direct purchase on Apple TV. Also, Apple TV comparatively seems to have limited purchasing options (buy movie in HD or SD...rental in HD or SD), and most appear to be more expensive (when buying directly from the unit).

Does anyone know why this is? Am I missing something simple on my Apple TV? I clicked on the "more" tab to no avail (Rotten Tomatoes, customer reviews, etc.) hoping to find more options for purchase.

Thank you for your help.

I dont know why there are price differences either. But actually there is a lot of content other than what initially shows up in the menu. For instance if you click on a movie for more info, on the bottom is a another row of movies that are similar. I did that last night. Under new arrivals, there was the movie "Dirty Harry" I clicked on more, and then on the bottom there was a list on more Clint Eastwood movies in HD along with a few others. One was an HD version of "Where Eagles Dare" from the 1960s. Decided to rent that one. Would have never known it was on the ATV if I didnt select more.

Yeah, I guess the iTunes store on :apple:TV and and the iTunes store on my mac just aren't consistent with options and pricing. Not a big deal. Just wondering if it was a configuration thing on my end. Thanks!
