No, I have a normal ol' iTunes account..nothing special there. I think it takes time to be pushed to all of the iTunes servers plus I believe iTunes does some aggressive client-side caching. It might take a little time for it to show up for you, basically.
Hi there,
I frequent the site so much and now I finally get to contribute. YAY! I have an app out on the app store and today I noticed some changes in the ranking of the apps. I have attached a screenshot and it seems that they now display the date of when the user ranked it and the version they were using. As well as include the "invisible" deletions in total reviews.
I'm especially grateful for it since as a single developer with not enough beta testers, there were a few "issues" in the first version of my app. This gives a better chance the those old skeletons won't be dragged out of the closet for the rest of my app's life...
Apparently another improvement is that apple gives a warning when you try to post a review when not using the latest version! This is also a good thing. I wonder if there's a non-intrusive way to similarly ask for feedback/ratings when you've used an app > 20 times or something (to balance out the delete/1-star crap). Maybe when you keep the version current (after getting 3 or 4 updates for an app) they could prompt for it (less intrusive than after running an app 10 or 20 times), but still encourage those that may actually like the app to leave feedback/ratings.
I can definitly confirm the review on delete carries the same weight as the other written reviews.. at very least they should be weighted according to the number of sales, ie so if it gets 10 reviews from deletions and 2000 sales, those 10 reviews count alot less than if the app had only made 500 sales.
