It certainly could be. Apple is supposedly investigating and thankfully, the people who found the problem haven't given out information on it so that Apple has time to investigate.

Isn't it odd how quickly c|net jumps on Apple flaws but not their advertisers' products?

C|Net claims it affects iTunes on Windows and OS X, but eEye only mentions iTunes for Windows.

EDIT: C|Net has posted the following:
Correction: This story initially quoted an incorrect report on the eEye Digital Security Web site saying an iTunes security flaw affected both Windows and Mac operating systems. To clarify, eEye is still testing the flaw on the Mac OS.
