For whatever reason, iTunes refuses to copy a playlist consisting of six recordings (non-iCloud matchable) to my iPad Air 2, which is making me crazy. Tried dragging the playlist onto the iPad's icon in the lefthand panel, but no go. Files just tumbled back down to their spot on the laptop's list.
Next, I tried selecting the tracks, Control + click, Add to Device, but only my kitchen (retired) iPad and my iPhone appear as options. The iPad Air is missing from the list of target devices, even though it's clearly shown as a connected device everywhere else in iTunes.
Any idea why iTunes on the MBA has a blind spot where the iPad is concerned?
