iTunes skips to the next track before the current one has finished

Hi,

Here's my weekly rant about that f*ckfest that iTunes has turned into.

I've been having an issue where the current track doesn't finish before it skips to the next one. Normally it misses a few seconds from the end. Pretty annoying.

Just in case I've checked and I don't have the crossfade option activated.

Ideas?

EDIT: btw I'm using 12.5.5.5. I don't want to update because afaik the MiniPlayers is totally messed up in the 12.6 version.
 
How about the stop time in track Options?
Perhaps that has managed to get set wrong.
 
I play music downloaded through iTunes on Sonos. I've noticed lately that when you first download a song even though Sonos seems to see it properly the song can end before it is supposed to. I've found that formally syncing Sonos to the library seems to solve the problem.

Nah, it's not that.

For what I've seen on Apple Support Communities, there seems to be a bug in the latest releases of iTunes, related to the gapless info embedded in recently added mp3s. Not sure how to solve it though.
 
New version of Audacity out.
Copy one of your short playing files out to disk, import to Audacity then export mp3 with a different name.
Use Tagr ID3 or similar tag editor to zero out as many of the tags in the new file as you reasonably can.
While in there, change the band name to something odd. Then add the track to iTunes and see if it plays in full.
I'm wondering if one of Apple's cloud systems has somehow decided how long some songs are supposed to be, and that's the total time it will let you hear?
-Strange hypothesis, I know. But you've got a strange problem.

I've stuck with iTunes 10.4.1 myself, because I was not happy with the way Apple was taking things.
It's pretty reliable under Sierra. Have not tried under HS as I don't trust that OS yet.
