It's not down. https://www.apple.com/support/systemstatus/
Its down
It is for a dozen people I know.
During that huge outage last week(?), the status showed it was up when I checked, yet it was down. It's not very reliable (the status page). Kind of pointless...
Its down
Hmm...
Someone plugged it back in? Seems to be working for me now.
Carry on...
Some people may be having problems, but the store isn't down, or everyone would have the problem. If even a significant portion of people were having the problem, there would be a lot more threads and posts about it. It's up and running just fine for me and many I've asked.
No more ridiculous than denying that it's up just because you aren't able to get in. If the store was down, no one would be able to get in, which clearly isn't the case. But to deny that it's down just because you are able to get in is rather ridiculous, don't you think?

The fact that you, or even several people can't get in does not indicate that the store itself is down. That only means you can't get in. If the store was, indeed, down, no one would be able to get in. There are many factors that can contribute to one person being unable to access the store... or any website, for that matter. It doesn't necessarily mean that the destination is down.To be fair when it was unavailable a few weeks ago they stated it was all up but none of my devices could get in at my house, on the road or at work. So I do agree with the others that their status page is a little pointless. If it was partially up (some nodes), they should at least turn the icon yellow.
Again, it only means that some people can't access the store, not that the store is down.

I'm not telling anyone that nothing is wrong. Something is clearly wrong if even one person can't access the store, but determining where the problem lies (on the user's end or on Apple's end or somewhere in between) is another matter. I haven't denyed that people are having problems accessing the store. I'm simply stating that the store itself is not down. If if was, no one would be able to access it.Nope, but telling people there is nothing wrong when clearly there is doesn't really help either.
If the store was down, no one would be able to get in.
That is certainly more accurate. Or that it was down for some people. So then it was partially down,

Hence why I said it was "partially up" in my initial post.
We are just splitting hairs here.![]()
In the internet, there should be no 'partially down'. There are protocols and such to keep that from happening. Well, or there was... Apparently something just went kablooey. A technical term meant to say that 'something broke'...
