Hey all,
so I bought my apple tv and have been really happy with it for the most part, however 54 of my tv shows arn't syncing to my apple tv because it says "Video Format not supported by apple TV" now all of these tv shows were Purchased from the Itunes Movie Store.

Like I have for example a season pass of "The Office" and I got about 19 episodes from the season that synced to the apple tv, but 3 random ones got the "video format not supported" error.

I thought all Itunes content would work on Apple TV?

anyone help?

Has this issue happened with anyone else? I can't seem to find anything really about this on the forums or online.

ugh :( so what do I do?

yeah I see others with all of "The Office" on their apple TV, yet for me I get the majority of episodes but not all of them.

And so in Itunes I have the little triangle icon next to the apple tv and it says how the episodes "are not in a video format supported by Apple TV".

I can't find any help on apple's site or anywhere in terms of what to do in this situation.

I had $500.00 in itunes giftcards within the past year so I've purchased a LOT of tv shows and movies from the ITMS and the reason why I bought the appletv was because I thought it supported all itms files. I'm not evening dealing with ripped files :(

anyone have any help on this situation?

:-( is the best way to do that via going to the store? or calling?

Maybe those few files are corrupted slightly (e.g. bad download, bad sector on the disk drive) and while iTunes copes the Apple TV is more fussy and less tolerant?

I'd try redownloading them from iTMS - that's free right? (apart from the bandwidth and your time!)

actually you can't re-download anything from the itunes store :(

but so a friend suggested what I should try is deleting all the files from my itunes (not the actual files themselves) and then re-adding them to my itunes library and seeing if that fixes it, and if not that then to re-make my entire Itunes library.

I got it to work. I had to delete all my tv shows in itunes but select "keep files" then put them back into my Itunes Library. now it synced to Apple tv. yay

Apple KBase on repairing iTunes DB

QuinnMal, you've effectively recreated your iTunes DB. There's an article for that...

I too have recently encountered a similar problem and I'm in the middle of recreating mine as I write this. Thought it might be some help to others.
