iTunes sync on someone elses comp help

my laptop is broken and I want to upgrade my iphones os to 3.0
can I do this on someone else's computer? if so how do I do this without having all my pics and bookmarks end up on their comp? or having their pics and bookmarks sync to my phone?
also when I upgrade will I lose my pics, bookmarks n YouTube bookmarks?

where I'm already discussing your issue.

You'll lose everything if you sync with someone else's computer. You'll need to get your stuff off onto their computer using the info in that thread before you sync. That won't help with contacts, calendar, notes or SMS. ipod2pc might do it, IDK. funambol can be used to sync your contacts online.
