iPod iTunes syncs iPhone but not iPod nano

I have iTunes 9.0.2.25 on Windows/XP and it syncs well with my iPhone 3G. However, when I plug in my 2Gen iPod Nano, iTunes does not even sense the Nano and I can't sync with it.

What can I do? Thanks for help/advice.
