I'm looking for an app for windows that is similar to metax that can do the same for music. I tried tuneup for iTunes but it doesn't work very well. Any ideas?

I have iTunes match and I thought that if it matched my songs it would correct the meta data. I erased all my music and when I redownload it displays the same messed up tags and art.

Musicbrainz Picard is quite good, and free. It'll search based on existing tags, or by the tracks audio fingerprint (link iTunes Match does) if the metadata is incorrect.
Once the tags are sorted, iTunes iteslf does a good job on artwork if its available in the store.

+1 for musicbrainz. If you don't like the match via fingerprinting, you can use tagger to select what version of the song you want. I use MBP extensively to retag my amazon.com purchases.

Awesome

This is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks!
