I have a rev A 1.6ghz G5 running OS 10.3.5 with all the latest software updates. My music collection is about 4.5 gigs and recently starting up iTunes takes far too long. This has only been in about the last two months when my music collection increased from about 2 gigs. Any suggestions?

Repair permissions, delete iTunes prefs. If that doesn't fix it, then delete your iTunes Library file, then make a new one by dragging your entire Music folder into a (now blank) library in iTunes.

Well it seems I have solved this problem... :(
I used a program called Mr. Clean to try and fix some of the aliases on my computer and left it on all day. Meanwhile while I was out it finished up and my dad deleted the trash. While it seems Mr. Clean deleted ALL my music (yay!) and when my dad cleaned out the trash it killed the files. I now have to either find a way to get back all the files or go about downloading each and every one again. And that is the last time I ever used Mr. Clean and/or leave it on while I'm out and/or give my dad full access to my computer.

... anyone know any way to get these files back? I doubt they could be recovered, but just in case are there any programs that can recover music files after deletion?

If you have your music on an iPod you can use PodUtil (do a google search) and it will take them off of it. other than that, i have no clue. best of luck to ya
