Hi - I hope someone can point me in the right direction!

Have an iPhone5 and after backing it up to iTunes on my laptop, I updated Ios 8.0.2 - which worked fine. However when I now plug the phone into my laptop (USB) to back it up it thinks it is a new one and asks if I want to set it up as a new phone or restore from a previous backup....

I have used it a lot since the last backup and don't want to lose the data by having to restore it.....

Have tried a different laptop with a new install of iTunes and get the same result, so must be something on the phone...

Anyone able to suggest what I might try?? Thanks in advance!:)

Happened to me before.
Just choose setup as new.
Nothing on it will be erased and it will just stay the same.
If you restore from old backup all your current things on it will be gone.
