Has anyone else noticed that the Download All Free Updates button is gone from iTunes when viewing the updates?? I have to manually update all the apps individually now...

Very strange... I was not surprised when it went missing from the App Store on the iPhone but didn't expect to see it disappear from iTunes. Possibly in preparation for something from Tuesdays event??

Yeah, I noticed that yesterday. Now when I click on an update I get the message that the shopping cart doesn't work for app purchases and fo I still want to buy the app even though all the updates are free.

Possibly a shopping cart in iTunes 8??

I seriously think the iTunes store is gonna get some some sort of major revamp.

Anyone want to try contacting Apple and asking why the button is missing?

Unless you call, you likely wont even get anything back till after tuesday.

I think it is very likely though that you will see an update to the store. iTunes 8 will probably make everything more streamline for you. I mean, iTunes was originally a jukebox player, then a music store, then a video player, then a movie store, then a tv show store, then a podcast catcher, then an iPod game store, then an iPhone/iPod touch app store...

(all of those in no particular order)

I would imagine Apple would like to make everything feel less "patchy" if you know what I mean.

Very well put. And the wait continues....

It's been missing for (me at least) at least 3 weeks. I figured that installation was a fairly intensive process (it takes at least 5 mins after the bar reaches the end until installation has finished), apps appear to take longer to load and stuff lags in general.

I think it disappeared sometime late last night. I went to update two apps and noticed it wasn't there for the first time.

I think it was gone for me at 2.0.2.

I still have the option to update all on my 2.0.1 original iphone, which I have not connected to the computer since I purchased the 3G.

That would make no difference. It's a store change, which is entirely online, not at all connected to the phone software.

I believe iTunes does some cacheing of the store, this might account for the discrepancy that we are seeing for when people are losing this button.

The uptime on my MBP is 26 days, and I dont think I have relaunched iTunes since then... If the cache is cleared on startup, people who relaunch iTunes daily might lose the button sooner.

This is only speculation though.

Noticed that over the weekend. Meant to ask about it. On one hand it's annoying because you have to update each app one at a time, but on the other hand the updates are a bit excessive for some of these programs. Seems like I've patched some apps more than a couple times in a month, which means they should have tested it more before releasing it.

While this is very true about testing more before releasing, I think people (including myself) like to see updates available for apps. Kind of lets you know the developer hasn't forgotten about it.

"Download All Free Updates" is still there for me in iTunes 7.7.1, I just used it.
Upper right hand corner on "My App Updates" page.
