Am I the only person waiting for a update tonight? Normally Apple doesn't post this late at night so I wonder if I just call it a night.

with apple, everything revolves around west coast time, so there's still time left. however, there won't be anything new you can do with the itunes update (since the ringtone feature is going to be turned on next week), so i say call it a night if you want.

Yep. And if you want ring tones iToner is brilliant. Not a crazy hack, puts the songs right into your ringtones on the phone.

What about the Wi-Fi Music Store? Apple says starting today you can use it...

http://www.apple.com/startpage/

Introducing the iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store
Starting today, you can enter the new iTunes Wi-Fi Music Store; wirelessly browse, search, preview, purchase, and download songs or albums to your iPhone or iPod touch; then immediately listen to your new music after it downloads. Once you get back to your Mac or PC, iTunes automatically recognizes the new music and syncs it with your existing library. iTunes will even complete the download of any partially downloaded songs or albums.

Yeah, but I think even Mr. Steve himself is busy answering phone calls.

Well I think I was had. Went back and watched the Apple conference. Quoting Steve from it "New version of iTunes which will ship tonight".

Notice he said SHIPS not available. My guess is that tonight we do not see a iTunes update.

Apple does not ship iTunes anymore unless you are purchasing a new computer - even with a new iPod you have to download it - no disc included.

Well normally I would agree but I'm just pointing out what he said word for word. Plus it's 8pm CST. Doubt a update will be posted this late at night.

No reason to sit around waiting, the RingTone feature will not be turned on until next week and its too weak of a feature to even worry about.

You're waiting up to download a mostly untested release that will cause you to complain tomorrow because your whole iTunes library has somehow been erased and you don't have a backup? :D

Relax. You don't have one of the new devices so you really don't need it yet.
