itunes update question

so i clicked update in iTunes. It said i had 3 updates to download....
Itunes 9.0
something that has to do with apps
and a web browser


i selected itunes and the app thing however the app thing did not download...it had an error during download.

my question is what is the app thing and how do i download it

what is "the app thing"? im guessing by "app thing" you mean an app. An app is an program for the iPhone a developer makes and sells you on iTunes (for free or pay).

i know what apps are.

when you update itunes it asks what parts you want to update.
Itunes 9.0
something else
and Safari.


i believe the something else had to do with apps...maybe app manager...i don't remember what is was called. this update had a error. i rebooted after the itunes update but i want to know what that 2nd program was.
