All,

I've got a strange one with iTunes and can't for the life of me work out this problem.

If I add an album into my library, then select all songs and make one change (IE: Minus the Bear becomes Minus The Bear), it then splits the album into 2 with the first song all on it's own.
It only does this with artists who have more than one word in their title and I can't see why it does this. There are no differences between genres, year, album etc, just that I've renamed the artist to (rightly or wrongly) how I'd like it to appear in my library.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks.

Hey there,

are you using iTunes on Windows or OS X?
My iTunes behaves like this when i try to change the ID3-Tags immediately after i have placed the files in iTunes. This happens because iTunes is still detecting the volume for normalizing. Try adding the Songs, wait a minute and then rename the tracks.

Regards,
Baguette

Hey,
It's iTunes on 10.6.3 (holding out for a graphics fix for Steam before going 10.6.4). It's not always when just adding the files, although I've got an album doing it, so I'll delete it and try again, this time leaving it for 5mins.

Thanks.

Still no luck. Waited 5 mins, even did a quick restart of iTunes to be sure. For some reason it's only the first song of albums like this that separate. It's annoying in CoverFlow then having 2 entries for each LP.

Hi there,

Select the tracks from any album you want hit command+I, on the Sorting tab go to Sort Album Artist and fill in the name you need/want. They'll show as one album then.

Pd: I have that same problem from time to time...

Greetz,

Greetz,

Perfect, that fixed it. Many thanks.
Any idea what causes this, or is it done by design?
