Does anyone know what the frequency of the iTunes Sync with an iOS device is? Can it be altered or scheduled?

I did what you said but keep getting in both ipad2 and iPhone 4 that "iTunes will be synced once the iMac is available". My iMac is on, and iTunes running, still won´t sync, not even manually. Help

Another question that is driving me nuts... ical and address book have "in my mac" and "in iCloud" versions. If you select both, you get double everything. If you use as default on my mac, then it won't sync to other devices. If you use default iCloud, then how do you get them backed up or saved to the iMac so you have your info intact? thanks.

I'm not an expert and this is from memory (and only for the Mac) but the syncing to the Mac is enabled by the System Preferences > iCloud pane. Which should be available after the install of 10.7.2

This is assuming you have also setup iCloud at iCloud.com

To enable W-Fi- syncing in iTunes (10.5) there's a checkbox in the devices' "Summary" tab.

I do believe it can be altered or scheduled but you manually sync wirelessly.

If you are talking about iCloud backup, it will happen AT MOST once every 24 hours provided the phone is plugged in and connected to wifi.

If you're on Lion just delete everything except iCloud. That's all you need.

iTunes sync never happens automatically, you have to initate it either from iTunes or from your phone.

I've had the opposite experience. I can't get it to backup automatically to iCloud. It does however start wirelessly syncing to iTunes the moment that it's plugged in and locked.

thank you, So you mean to say that I only use iCloud, and that new information that I type in, say a new contact on my mac, if I use the iCloud default, it will automatically go to my iPad and iPhone and if for any reason I stop using iCloud, the information will remain on all my devices?

Yes, if you got the latest Lion patch (10.7.3 I think it was), iCloud should be all you need. I was seeing duplicates at first as well, but I just deleted all the non-iCloud calendars and now everything is synced up great.

I had to Get a new apple Id as I was sharing with my family. Now I get only iCloud calendar but 3-4 copies of each event! Going nuts here. Any ideas? In the future I was thinking of using only one calendar but then what's the point on having all the different ones, colored to make it easier?

I don't see this in 10.5 on my PC

UPDATE: My bad, it's on the page when the iPhone is connected to the PC. thought it was under preferences.
