Hi, im wondering whether its possible to sync music from my iTunes to my iPhone through wifi sync..

I've plugged it in and 'checked' the wifi sync in summary..
whilst plugged in if i go to iTunes wifi sync on my iPhone and sync, it syncs...what exactly i'm not sure. is it just syncing what i have on my iPhone to the computer?

i have a mac mini and i'm syncing with 4S now..

if i unplug from the computer and go to wifi sync it just says searching for mac mini..? nothing really happens after that.

So, my main question is.. can i have my mac mini on and select what music i want to download to the iPhone over the wifi?

i've got home sharing on by the way and thats fine..ye i can play all music through my iPhone/ipad if my mac is on....but I'm on about actually downloading to the device now without plugging it in.

i can download purchased songs from iTunes without the mac being on..again, not what I'm on about though..
Perhaps i misunderstand the 'never need a cable again'

...and, i know iCloud provides this for £24.99 or whatever it is..
which is good if your away from your computer and want an album, but if I'm sat at home on my wifi network surely i can just download any music on my iTunes to my iPhone now??? ..without plugging it in.
no?

thanks

Have you enabled Wi-Fi sync for the iPhone in iTunes ?

The syncing should be bi-directional and any changes in iTunes should sync to the phone and vice versa including music downloads.

i just went onto iTunes on my mac then and it still showed my iPhone as connected... its on the couch now, so i ticked some albums and voila!! it works!! lol - awesome..

it wasn't showing before i posted this thread, maybe my mac could sense i was about to slate it - so it started to behave :) woohoo

Everything you can do when the phone is plugged in to the computer you can do with wifi sync. However, you have to turn the feature on first in Itunes with the phone plugged in.

You determine in itunes what goes to the phone and it still works the same way
in terms of song selection etc.
