Scary to see it on Windows. I just installed it on a PC... I still like the mac version better :)

How can you say it looks disgusting? The only difference is the title bar. Even the aqua scroll bars and checkboxes are in place!

i agree that it's a bit ugly, the fonts and title bar are out of apple's hands it would seem, lets just say that it's not the visually refined feel that we are used to. thank god i'll never have to use it.

i do wish people would stop saying it looks "exactly" the same. it most certainly does not. it's probably as close as they could get it, tho.

wish we could have had more shots of the actual program, 3/4 pics are of installation? uh... ok.

still, i'm happy with it, and i think it's a great first version for windows. here's hoping that apple will take over at least one aspect of PC life ;)

HHHMMM, from seeing it...it's not actually ugly. Yes the main differences are: fonts, colored buttons, toolbars...but it is a great port!! First hand it looks real nice, clean, crisp, just like the way apple does it!! And the best feature was to actually have my brother download it for windoze....and have his playlist automatically pop up on my itunes..no sync required!! :D The only downfall to this though, is that the other user HAS to have itunes open...a feature I wish they could change.

Here are some pics :D

Enjoy!!

It looks great to me and equivalent (take that paulwhannel!) to the Mac OS X version.

I was reading on http://www.osnews.com that moving the window around the screen was not an easy task on older machines. I hope that's an isolated incident.

Hope it catches on and they can claim a tonne of downloads, as well as music sales.

Now, if QuickTime player works better too, that would be quite a feat. :)

it looks FREAKIN GREAT - for a window program. The thing that puts me off is the menu bar. I am soooo used to seeing just iTunes and not the menu bar it kinda makes me realise a hellofa lot quiker why i still love my mac.

but - good job apple.

You just ported your best piece of free software to you competitors platform. I know there are quite a few people who switched for itunes. Sure they like other things about their macs now but itunes was the deciding factor. No more reason to do this. Just get it on the pc.

I think at this rate apple will put themselves out of the hardware business real quick .....

what next? the rest of iLife ......

as you can see i am pretty pissed about the way they brought the music store the winodws.

Love that last photo

Hey Arn,

I like that last JPEG you posted with 2Pac Shakur's track in the middle window "Peace the **** out" spelling mistake on my part intended, hehe.;)

You know....I don't think apple really has to worry about itunes on windoze demoting their hardware sales....I just got done with a heated discussion with my brother (die hard doze user himself) about this. But I was saying the same thing, until I actually thought about it. What this is gonna' do for apple is this:

1: Promote more money via music store.
2: Promote a larger awareness of how amazing apple products can be.
3: Boost ipod sales = even more money for development.
4. Eventually bring more switchers than turn away.
5. A corner on the online music industry

With windoze people that have never used a mac (especially all the bashers out there that have no idea what they are talking about) itunes will open up a whole new world of appreciation and enjoyment for using an app on their computer. The thing apple CAN NOT do is release the other ilife apps on windoze...obviously. This is where apple will shine.....giving doze users a "taste" of what apple can really offer them...not just a cute GUI. Chances are IMHO itunes is what can really create the large amount of switchers apple wants....instead of keeping all of our apps off limits to the normal world, we show them what they could have if they just took the plunge.
