iTunes (7.7.1) will not backup my pwned iPhone 3G (2.0), even if I right-click and select Backup manually. The very same iTunes WILL backup my pwned first-gen iPhone (1.1.4) with no problems.

Also, in iTunes when I click Check for Updates on my iPhone 3G, it does not alert me of the 2.0.1 update and says that 2.0 is the current version. Again, the very same iTunes DOES show the 2.0.1 update for my first-gen iPhone.

Anyone else experiencing these problems? Any ideas?

Thanks,
Brandon

Sounds to me like you need to reinstall iTunes. My iTunes has no problem backing up my winpwn'd iPhone 3G running the 347 firmware. I even have cracked apps installed using the IPA method and they back up too. Oh. and iTunes does warn me of the 2.0.1 firmware, though I choose not to do it until winpwn is ready for it.

Sure enough, that did the trick. I'm on a Mac: I deleted iTunes.app from the Applications folder, and didn't delete anything else (like preference files or app support files). Downloaded and installed iTunes again, and that fixed everything.

Thanks.
