iTunes wont play through speaker, but will stream...????

Hi. my iTunes will stream perfectly to my hi fi, but if i select 'play through computer speakers'...nothing... not a sound, but the visually itunes seems to be playing it..... Yes, i haver checked my volume is up...

odd. any idea's..? any help appreciated.

Is QuickTime making any sound through the computer's speakers?
