My phone is stuck in a loop where it resets to the Apple logo, then looks like it is updating the firmware with the bar going across, then when that is done, it does the swirl. iTunes won't recognize that it is connected. Rebooted the laptop and did a hard reset of the iPhone. Still same thing.

Now what?

put it in dfu mode

hold down the power and the home button till you see the screen goes black like it's off then count to 4 or 5 then release the power button only and keep the home button holded. hold it for a few more seconds and you should be in DFU mode, plug in your phone and itunes should say you are in recovery mode. Restore now.

This helped...

Thank you! That got me out of the loop. Now I'm in the same boat as everyone else. You are a lifesaver.

yeah just keep hitting restore, you will eventually get it to update for you.

I did it for 3 hours and finally got it to work

It is restoring

Thanks again, five more clicks on Restore did it. It is loading my music now.
