For some reason iTunes keeps opening on its own. I quit the program, then it does it again. I can't figure out why. Any ideas? or should I just reinstall it?

What's in your CD/DVD drive?

There's nothing in the CD drive and I don't have my iPod connected either. Which is what makes no sense.

Was there anything you did, like installs, just before this started to happen?

I didn't do anything before that started happening. I had put the computer to sleep and when I came back it started doing that. Restarting it seemed to stop the problem though. So I think its okay now.

Any iTunes widgets (or other "helpers") running...? :)

Edit: I see others suggested this while I was answering another thread. Glad you solved it though, but you never said if you had any widgets running... :)

I do keep a widget for iTunes on my dashboard, but its been there for awhile and never did that.

is anything being added to your library ? some p2p are known ot automatically open itunes and add songs to library... not that we condone such things.

I had the same problem, it is the iTunes widget, just reload it.
If you keep a closer look at an Activity Monitor, you will notice that at some point the iTunes widgets will become unresponsive (as indicated by the red text) and after that iTunes will launch.
So far this thing hasn't occurred again.
