iPhone X IUP upgrades - are you paying panelty?

for those who got the x on launch last year there are two remaining payments left. Are you waiting or paying the panelty to upgrade now to XS?

What I meant by panelty is that you pay an extra payment but returning your phone or in other words you’ll make 2 payments in one months
