My 7+ is already running the 10.1.1 version but when I connect my device to my computer, iTunes reminds me that 10.1.1 is available for download. Is there a different 10.1.1 version from the OTA update?

How could a release be "minor enough that it doesn't warrant a revision change"? This seems more like a screwup.
So it appears this is an iTunes provided update, in addition to the OTA ones I obsessively update to :)

I wonder if it fixes the incessantly annoying music issues, where music tracks keep getting re-downloaded and or changed on my iPhone? Does anyone else experience this?

I go nuts deleting tracks/ albums from both iTunes and my iPhone, or re-downloading cloud tracks that mysteriously re-appear in my song list, often inhibiting me from rewinding back through tracks.

Anyone else having these issues? Music has some really serious problems lately.

Well, as discussed in parts of that thread, it's likely related to some sort of installation tweaks/changes and not changes to iOS itself.

This has happened in the past. Two versions of iOS 9.2.1 came out. No version change. Installation issue problems. Same with 10.1.1. It onset need a version change because once its installed its fine. The issue was installing it.
