I tried handbrake last night and managed to create an iphone version of Withnail and I without any problems. I used the iphone preset.

It plays when I click it and it looks fine on my PC but I sync my iphone with itunes on our MAC. I copied the movie file from teh PC to teh MAC with a USDB stick but I just can't get it into my itunes on teh MAC..

It's so frustrating as usually its so easy with apple stuff.

I have even copied it to the folder location which is suppose to be for movies but it doesn't show up in the itunes browser.

Any help greatly appreciated as this is driving me nuts.

I thought it was a case of dragging it onto the itunes movie folder but no joy.

In iTunes, go to the 'File' menu, select 'Add to Library...', then browse to your movie in the 'Add to Library' dialog box. iTunes' default way of managing movies is that it will then copy the movie into your iTunes movie folder -- not sure what it'll do if that's where the movie already is, but I'm sure it'll be ok. Incidentally, you can turn off this 'copy' feature in Preferences by unchecking 'Copy files to iTunes Music folder when adding to library' under the 'Advanced' tab. If you do that iTunes will add the file to your library and leave it wherever it is.

You may also be able to add the movie to iTunes by dragging it into the iTunes window itself (not the iTunes folder).

Also, you may not care but just FYI, you'll probably find people around here prefer "Mac" to "MAC", since it's not an acronym (like "PC"). Guaranteed someone will eventually make some kind of snarky comment.

Thanks, that worked on my Mac (sorry didn't mean to offend anyone)

I now have my two favourite films of all time on my iphone!

Withnail and I
Blade Runner

I have the original DVD's and they Handbraked no problem and I did not have to do anything else either. Noe I'll try Grounhog Day (always had a soft spot for that film)

Today someone said just get it off limewire already formatted for an iphone but call me old fashioned I don't mind paying people for the work I enjoy.
