I've been researching and hemming and hawing and trying to decide between a prev. gen. 2.8 refurb, a new 2.8 refurb with BTO with a 500gb HD, and just going to the store and picking up a new stock 2.8. I needed a new desk to accommodate the 24" screen, so we went to ikea yesterday to pick that up. On the way out, hubby says, "we're 3/4 of the way to the Apple store, we might as well go get the iMac," I think he was tired of hearing my hem and haw!
So my spankin' new 24" 2.8GHz, has now been up and running for 24 hours! YAY!!!
After a lifetime of using windows-based pcs, the new OS is taking some adjustment, but I am already liking it. It will only get better as I grow accustomed. I have no pixel or gradient issues. There is a tiny bit of backlight bleed that I would not have noticed if I hadn't looked for it. (Thanks guys). Not enough to bother me. The reflection/glare is taking some getting used to, but I will tell you what - this baby is beautiful! My pictures look spectacular! It is fast and quiet, and I am just so excited! I can't wait to feel proficient with it!

Thanks for letting me gush!:D

Congrats

Enjoy your new computer... My wife seems to be into us getting a new iMac also as soon as our stimulus check arrives!

I just bought my third (a MBP) since making the switch about two years ago.

#4 comes when the Mac Pro moves to Nehalem and my father has decided to switch and swap his Dell for a MacBook Air.
