I've been thanking my lucky stars up to this point that I haven't had anything more than the occasional app crash since updating my 1st-gen iPhone to the 2.0 software, but it looks like my luck has run out.

I updated to 2.0.2 a couple days ago, two or three days after it was released. No problems, at least for the first couple days. Then last night I saw in iTunes that about 7 applications had updates available -- I told it to go ahead and download the apps, then I synced my phone. After syncing the updates, not a SINGLE third-party app on the phone would launch. I have about 20 I think, and all of them just immediately crash back to the home screen. Rebooting the phone did not fix it.

So, grumbling, I docked it and clicked Restore and went to bed. In the morning it asked me if I wanted to restore data from my backup -- yes. It took about 45 minutes, rebooted the phone, and then asked me if I wanted to restore from backup AGAIN. I double-checked the phone -- sure enough, none of my data was on it. It's now an hour into the second restore, and looks like it might be locked up -- the progress bar hasn't moved in a long time.

What do I do? There's no "cancel" button on the restore. At this point I don't care about the data on the phone, I'll just resync it. Will I foul something up if I just yank the phone out of the dock? I think I need to do a clean restore.

EDIT: Of course, 5 minutes after I wrote this the progress bar jumped from 50% to completed. But it still didn't restore my data, and is asking me to restore a THIRD time. Piece of crap.
