Alright i'll just list all the problems I have here in this thread, and number them, so if you know the answer to one of my problems just put the number before your answer so I know which one you're answering too.
1. Ever since putting in the new 9800 Pro/256mb video card, the computer froze all of a sudden without warning. This only happened once, and it did happen once before the new video card, but i'm still a little suspicious.
2. This issue is because of the DVI-ADC adapter i'm using. For some reason because of that adapter, the light on my moniter doesn't light up. It lights up if I touch it, but there is no effect, it doesn't put it to sleep, turn it on, or turn it off.
2b. Also in regard to the moniter adapter. My computer can't go to sleep anymore. This might also be because of the video card, but i'm not sure. When I put it to sleep, it turnes off instead. This might have something to do with the fact that the moniter light can't pulse showing that it's in sleep, but I doubt it.
2c. Last problem with the moniter adapter. A USB cable goes from the DVI-ADC converter box into the computer. I have 2 USB ports in my computer. When I plugged in the converter box into the computer, my other USB port stopped working. The ports in the back of the moniter work however, as they should.
3. Call of Duty 2 crashes fairly often. It's not bad enough to prevent me from playing the game, but it has frozen up about 5 times since i've started playing, and i'm more than 2 thirds through the game. Sometimes the sound and video stop at the same time, and sometimes just the video stops and the audio kind of gets stuck, like it keeps playing the last half a second of what was last played over and over again.
3b. Call of Duty 2 will also have random errors such as "Can't load map *map name*" and all I have to do is restart the computer, and it loads it just fine. I've noticed that to run Call of Duty 2 well, I need to restart my computer before opening it. I shouldn't have to do that.
3c. This only happened once with Call of Duty 2 but I thought i'd address it anyway. During one of those desert levels with the british, all of a sudden all these random slabs of tan colored material just appeared on the screen, sometimes to the side of me, sometimes above me blocking out the sky, and sometimes completely blocking my view. It looked like the graphics were freaking out or something. Once again, all I had to do was restart the computer to make it go away, but still I shouldn't have to do that.
If you could please take the time to answer my problems to the best of your abilities, I would be most grateful.
Thank you
