Ive Got The Best P2P Sharing App

For years i have been using limewire, it has done me well until recently only 4 connections can only be made made.
Ive been looking for another P2P app, so i thought i search these forums, i found two which came up the most and was popular here they were:

Direct Connect
And
mlMac

I downloaded them both and they are so amazing, mlMac searches loads of networks and you are bound to find the thing your after, Also Direct Connect searches loads of networks, the speed from downloading something is brilliant.

I recommend downloading these two Applications.

dude, download posioned. it searches gnutella, fast track (that's kazaa) and openFT. plus its updated all the time.
 
yes, download those and then to not pirate. hm.

mIMac used to screw the airport base station, if i was running that and an other mac was on on the same time.

Sure there are illegal Purpose, but there are also legal purpose.

I like to use Poisoned, Bit-Torrent and mLMac alot... in that order.

Limewire can bite me. :p
 
I can name some legal purposes...

like sharing my photos that I take with my digital camera
like sharing my own music that I composed
like sharing my homeworks, so others will not waste that much time!
are these illegal? I dont think so...
 
I personally use P2P to distribute my independent movies my crew and I make. I find P2P great for this since it doesn't cost anything (no big server fees), and it really gets our material out there. I think that independent artists also do similar things to get their music more known. I also like to share some of the material I own over P2P, I believe that anyone that tries to stop the discussion of P2P on a publicly accessible forum should really think about what they are saying. This whole thing reminds me of the people that want to start a petition to end all the "pointless" petitions. :rolleyes:
 
Downloaded Poisoned, thats pretty cool, reminds me of imesh or kazza but so much better, Thanks.
 
a lot of users share some very handy documents.

its also useful for getting bootlegs of particular artists. R.E.M. and Radiohead authorise people to 'share' bootlegged gigs and unreleased tracks, as do many others, like Martina Sorbara for example.

I've used essentially every P2P out there, and the only one that worked for me was LimeWire - needless to say, it isn't all that great. I've tried mLmac, Poisoned, and a whole slew of others, and while they all cam up with loads of results, none of them would download anything. They items would just sit there saying "Stalled" or "Waiting". LimeWire may not have that many results, but at least I can download them.
 
While some Mac apps may support the FastTrack/Kazaa protocols now, I never have any luck downloading. Okay, maybe not never, but very rarely. But then I can go and start Virtual PC up w/ Windows 2000, and then run Kazaa Lite K++ and get the same results, but 99% of the downloads actually work. I'm not sure why, but I think just about every Mac P2P app has a long way to go. P2P is one of the Mac's major weaknesses compared to Windows.
 
Ive tried DC, poisoned and BitTorrent and the latter is the only one that seems to be effective for sharing applications and game. Poisoned is the best for music, although even then it can be a bit of a pain... about 1/5 of files I try to download actually go through.
 
What about Acquisition? I use "acqlite", which is a free version of Acquisition, and it works well. I can't find some songs, but big whoop. Is it worse than all of the other ones listed? Anyway, I'll be quiet and try Poisoned or whatever. I need to go download some music illegally.

No, not if you have the author's permission.

It could be cheating if you represent the work as your own.
 
I'm a huge fan of Bittorrent, personally, both because it just works and because of its concept--rather than being a one-to-many distribution using a proprietary network, it has the ability to make much better use of the web, and its "more the merrier" approach removes the elitist nature of a lot of P2P networks that favor heavy filesharers.

It's also a whole lot easier to use legitimately; perfect example:

It's an independant video production that offers episodes for free download via Bittorrent, among other things. Takes a huge load off servers that would otherwise be vastly overloaded.

Actually, used properly, Bittorrent could make the distribution of large files like game demos on release day a nearly free proposition instead of requiring massive server resources.

Now that's what I call equality. Right now if you want to publish online, you incur a lot of cost if you're popular. BitTorrent, in ameliorating that, can make the Internet more free and democratic for all.
 
Ohhhh, I really want to see what he said to get banned!

Personally I use Acquisition, and love it. But I use it for downloading bootlegs and 'vs' tracks for fun. I do nothing with them apart from play them on my system, and they can't be purchased anywhere as far as I know - think that WOULD be illegal as the tracks are not generally authorised by the artists.

Why does it matter, leave everyone else alone! If you don't like or use P2P, how come you navigate to a thread that is titled 'Ive got the best P2P shring app'?

This is the reason I have stopped reading most other forums, don't make this one deteriorate in the same way.
