Was due for a laptop upgrade after my HP of 4 years died. Saw a Macbook 13" 2015 model with a 3 year warranty, so i thought why not.

Anyway I literally have not installed anything on my mac other than Spotify as of yet and deleted the preinstalled iMovie app.

But what's this "OtherOS"? (See image)
And why does it say i have some Photos taking up memory when I don't have any photos/audio/video files as it's fresh out of the box?..

:S

I think you meant "Other". Correct? If so, it is a lot of different file types.

See https://www.igeeksblog.com/what-is-other-on-mac-how-to-remove/ for details.

cheers, but why is it saying that i've used up audio/photo files when it's just come out the box? :S
Could be basic background images and other visual assets (icons, etc.). Just a guess on my part. And here's the official breakdown: https://support.apple.com/kb/PH25855
And of course, welcome! I hope you enjoy the great feel of both the OS and the product.

Edit: whoops, looks like those particular files would be included under System. Hm.

Congrats and enjoy it. I came over to the light early last year and have not missed Win PCs nor have I regretted one bit.

My 15" rMBP is the best computing experience I've ever had.
