Howdie. I just upgraded from Jaguar to Tiger a couple weeks ago, doing a complete erase and install, as I wanted to freshen up the harddrive, clear out all the junk. I realized that iLife no longer comes with the OS and you either have to buy a computer or buy it separately to get everything but iTunes, so i figured i should backup iMovie and iPhoto (i think iPhoto was version 2, and maybe iMovie 3). At this point I had already done most of the backing up, so i was about to do this last minute back up of a few other things just before I installed 10.4. Then for some reason, when i burnt that last backup CD, just as the burn was almost done, i got an error, and the cd was unreadable. I wasted three CDs trying this, trying to get around it various ways, but eventually, i just said screw it, I'll gmail the smaller files, and I can probably find the old free iPhoto and iMovie either online somewhere, or somewhere on my old Jaguar discs.
So far no luck. I thought i had remembered there being an applications folder on the install discs, but there ain't. I guess the apps are buried inside the installer. Is there a way I can extract these apps from inside the installer without completely installing 10.2? Otherwise, does anybody know of any place that might still have the old free versions of these programs still available for download? I know apple probably tried to get rid of those old versions to make sure people would pay for the new iLife.

I would buy the new iLife, especially if i had a DVD reader and a 600mhz iMac instead of 500mhz so that i could actually install GarageBand (i'm dying for a decent multi track recorder). But I'm planning on hopefully buying a new iMac sometime in the next couple months, leaving this one with my parents, and my dad is looking to upgrade to a digital camera sometime soon, so i'd love to have iPhoto up and running for him. Thanks for any help.
